Formed amidst the vibrant musical landscape of Ithaca, NY, in 1997, Fromunda emerged as a dynamic force, blending alternative metal with post-grunge and hard rock influences to forge a sound uniquely their own. Comprised of Mike Gracen on guitar and vocals, Stefan Brownell on bass, and Dan Maclean on drums, the trio embarked on a musical journey marked by raw intensity and creative exploration.

Drawing inspiration from titans of the genre like Soulfly and Alice in Chains, Fromunda set out to carve their own path within the realm of alternative metal. After a year of honing their craft through relentless rehearsals, the band unveiled their inaugural offering to the world—a self-titled demo that ignited a spark of excitement among listeners.

In 1999, the addition of Brett Fuentes as the main vocalist injected new energy into the group, paving the way for the release of their debut album, simply titled “Fromunda.” This inaugural effort showcased the band’s knack for crafting infectious hooks, blistering riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics, earning them a dedicated following within the underground rock scene.

Building upon their early success, Fromunda unleashed their sophomore album, “Four Days Under the Gun,” in 2000, further solidifying their reputation for delivering hard-hitting anthems with unbridled passion. However, following the release, the band made the decision to embark on a brief hiatus, taking time to recharge and refocus their creative energies.

In June 2001, Fromunda triumphantly returned from their hiatus, reinvigorated and ready to reclaim their place on stage. Armed with a renewed sense of purpose, the band embarked on a series of electrifying live performances, captivating audiences with their explosive energy and magnetic stage presence.

With their relentless drive and unwavering commitment to their craft, Fromunda continues to push the boundaries of alternative metal, forging ahead on their musical odyssey with boundless creativity and unwavering determination.
